I've done spoken word for a long time, over ten years actually. And you know what? It is fantastic. I'm part of OrdpåScen (<--swedish) that arranges poetry readings and Poetry Slam competitions. I've been part of that since somewhere before the dawn of time, or rather around 2005/2006.
My spoken word-persona reads poems about reality, gender issues and bitterness. On stage I'm outspoken and witty, I've even done stand-up once and at least I had loads of fun.
I've been in the swedish open championships 5 times. I've ended up as 3, 2 and 1 as part of team Borås (3), Gatsby (2) and Malmö (1).
I'm also used to being the MC at these type of events.
I do not, for some reason, have any clips online in english, but if you'd like to hear the sound of swedish, there are some to choose from.
The last one there actually does contain some english, but not until after about 5 minutes. If you feel like listening for far too long just waiting for those few words you understand, you will love this clip.
I've held several workshops or classes in spoken word, performing and writing, both through OrdpåScen and through a company I work for that is called Ordkanon. If you want to arrange something and is interested in hiring me, you can contact me directly and we'll work out the best suitable way to arrange things.
I've worked both with grown ups and children, and I'm an apprieciated teacher and workshop leader. I aim to inspire my students not only for the moment, but for the time coming.
